Hi, We are LAuren and Wrenn!

We are so grateful that you are here and intrested in joining us June 21st at the Volland Store for the Flint Hills Feast!

The hosts, Lauren and Wrenn meet years ago at a food event in Denver. They became fast friends over the love of good food, pretty photography and sharing recipes online. A few years later the idea was born to host an event highlighting local makers and growers, with beef cooking demonstration.

More About Us

Lauren - The Curious Plate

Lauren resides in Denver, however she is actually a Kansas native. Born and raised in Wichita, she graduated from Kansas State along with my husband. She travels back to Manhattan often to be with family.

On The Curious Plate, she share unique spins on classic comfort food recipes, travel experiences and local recommendations. Her style is all about “feeding your curiosity.” In her cookbook, Modern Comfort Cooking, she share recipes that are fresh, flavorful and adventurous like Korean BBQ Burger with Miso-Candied Bacon, Falafel Waffle, Chicken Parmesan Stuffed Crepes and Mumbai-Inspired Shrimp Tacos with Avocado Salsa.

Arturo & Wrenn - Pacheco Beef

Arturo and Wrenn, are the ranchers behind Pacheco Beef. They love food, love to cook, love to eat, and love to produce high quality beef.

Pacheco Beef is grass fed, grain finished and aged for 21 days for superior taste and flavor.

Both Arturo and Wrenn grew up on small cow calf operations in Texas and New Mexico. Kansas State University brought the couple to Kansas for Arturo to complete his PhD. The flint hills captured their hearts and opportunity rose for them to put their roots down. In 2014 they moved to Wabaunsee county and never looked back. Over the last 10 years Arturo and Wrenn have been able to see their dream come true of raising cows and kids on their own cow calf operation.

In 2021 the couple launched their branded beef business, Pacheco Beef. With Arturo’s knowledge and passion and Wrenn’s creativity they are building a legacy for our boys.
